Xi Jinping Holds Talks Again with President François Hollande of France

In the evening of March 27 local time, President Xi Jinping held talks again with French President François Hollande in Paris.

Xi Jinping and his wife Mme. Peng Liyuan were warmly greeted by President Hollande upon their arrival at the Grand Trianon, where the French President hosts state guests. The two heads of state had frank and in-depth exchanges of views on the bilateral relations and topics of common interests.

Xi Jinping said, on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the China-France diplomatic relationship, my state visit to France is of special significance. We have comprehensively reviewed the successful experience of China-France relations, blueprinted the future development of the bilateral relations, and unanimously agreed to open up the new era of a close and enduring China-France comprehensive and strategic partnership. All these have charted the course, set up new targets and created bright prospects for the future China-France relations.

Hollande said that President Xi Jinping's visit has yielded fruitful achievements and won a complete success. From his talks with President Xi Jinping, he has deeply felt that China is a peace-loving country. The Chinese people have been adhering to the path of their own choice and made tremendous achievements. France and China share views on quite a number of major issues. He is willing to maintain close communications and contacts with President Xi Jinping, working together to promote the bilateral cooperation. On Taiwan issue, Tibet-related issues and other issues, France will always adhere to the position of respect for China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The two sides also exchanged views on the experience of national governance and the ideas of reform and development.

Prior to the talks, Xi Jinping, accompanied by Hollande, visited the office once used by General Charles de Gaulle. Xi Jinping said, we honor General Charles de Gaulle for his historic contributions to China-France relations. Under the new situation, both China and France should promote China-France relations with foresight and vision to achieve greater development.
