On April 24, 2014, State Councilor Yang Jiechi met with Foreign Minister Martin Lidegaard of Denmark in Beijing.
Yang Jiechi said, President Xi Jinping paid an important and successful visit to Europe last month. It has charted the course for the future development of China-Europe relations. The Chinese side is willing to take the opportunity of the Queen's visit, to keep pushing forward the China-Denmark comprehensive strategic partnership in a strong and all-round manner. China hopes that Denmark, as an important member state of the EU, will always provide positive energy for the development of China-EU relations.
Lidegaard said that Denmark-China relations have reached an unprecedented height and breadth. He hoped that the two countries will further strengthen communication and cooperation in bilateral, international and regional affairs.
Both sides also exchanged views on international and regional topics of common interest.
