On May 19, Chinese Ambassador to Denmark H.E. Wang Xuefeng met with Morten Hviid, CEO of the Danish Agriculture & Food Council.
Ambassador Wang noted that China and Denmark enjoy a solid foundation and strong complementarity in agricultural and food industry cooperation. Denmark has participated in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) for eight consecutive years and established a dedicated food pavilion. High-quality Danish agricultural and food products, especially organic products, are well received by Chinese consumers. This year marks the beginning of the implementation of China’s 15th Five-Year Plan. China continues to advance high-standard opening-up, while its large scale consumer market has become a major driver of economic growth, creating enormous opportunities for cooperation. China stands ready to strengthen exchanges with the Danish Agriculture & Food Council, expand cooperation in the agricultural and food sectors, and facilitate the access of more high-quality Danish agricultural and food products into the Chinese market.
Mr. Hviid stated that China is an important partner for Denmark in the agricultural and food sector. The Danish Agriculture & Food Council is optimistic on the prospects of cooperation with China and will continue to play its role as a bridge and link, promoting greater cooperation achievements between the two sides in such areas as green agriculture, food processing, and agricultural technology.
