On April 17, the Chinese Embassy in Denmark hosted a Spring Festival-themed open day event for students from Øresunds International School. Ambassador Wang Xuefeng attended the event and delivered a speech.

Ambassador Wang noted that the Spring Festival is the most significant traditional holiday of China and has increasingly become a cultural celebration shared around the world. He said the festival serves as an important bridge for exchanges among civilizations and reflects the core principles of respecting cultural diversity and strengthening international cultural cooperation, as put forward in President Xi Jinping’s Global Civilization Initiative.

He added that, in recent years, a series of Spring Festival cultural events held in Denmark have helped strengthen friendship and mutual understanding between China and Denmark. He encouraged the students to embrace the spirit of vitality and perseverance associated with the Year of the Horse, actively engage in multicultural exchanges, and contribute to the continued development of China-Denmark friendship.

During the event, students learned about Chinese Spring Festival traditions and China’s economical and social development through presentations, photographs, and videos. They also experienced cultural activities such as Chinese paper-cutting under the guidance of embassy staff.
