On 4 December, Chinese Ambassador to Denmark, Mr. Wang Xuefeng, visited the Port of Esbjerg, attended the China–Denmark Business Roundtable themed “Fostering Green Shipping, Shaping the Belt and Road Nordic Gateway” and delivered a keynote speech.
Ambassador Wang noted that not long ago, the Communist Party of China convened its Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee, adopted the recommendations on formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan, once again underscoring China’s commitment to steadily expanding institutional opening-up and charting the course for further high-standard opening-up and creating horizons for mutually beneficial cooperation. He emphasized that green development represents one of the most promising areas of China–Denmark cooperation, and expressed the hope that enterprises from both countries could seize opportunities, tap into potential, and further expand economic and trade exchanges as well as supply and industrial chain cooperation, including in green shipping, so as to inject new impetus into high-quality Belt and Road cooperation.
The CEO of the Port of Esbjerg, Mr. Dennis Jul Pedersen, and representatives from Danish & Chinese companies including Blue Water Shipping, Nordic Auto Logistics, COSCO Shipping, China Classification Society, and Huawei attended the roundtable and engaged in in-depth exchanges on expanding bilateral practical and mutually beneficial cooperation.
