Ambassador Deng Ying Attends the Closing Ceremony of the 2017 China-Denmark Tourism Year

On the afternoon of December 5, Ambassador Deng Ying attended the Closing Ceremony of the 2017 China-Denmark Tourism Year at the Royal Danish Theatre’s Old Stage in Copenhagen. Over 1200 guests including Crown Prince H.R.H. Frederik, Chairman of China National Tourism Administration Mr. Li Jinzao, Danish Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Mr. Brian Mikkelsen, Danish Minister for Culture Ms. Mette Bock, Deputy Director-General of the Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs Directorate-General Mr. Antti Peltomaki, Vice Chairman of China National Tourism Administration Mr. Du Jiang, representatives from tourism authoritites, tourism enterprises of the two countries, guests from Danish government, business, academies and media, as well as ambassadors resident in Denmark, representatives of local Chinese institutions, overseas Chinese and students in Denmark participated.

His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik recalled the long history of friendly exchanges between Denmark and China and reflected with pleasure his presence for Danish tourism promotions during his visit to China in September 2017, looking forward to next visit to China during 2022 Winter Olympics. His Royal Highness Crown Prince Frederik noted that the relations between Denmark and China are ever deepening and cooperation in various fields is flourishing, whereby the 2017 China-Denmark Tourism Year stand as testimony to the strong relations between China and Denmark, creating a sound platform for exchanges and cooperation at all levels of society. It also injects new kinetics to further development of bilateral ties and people-to-people exchanges between Denmark and China.

Chairman Mr. Li Jinzao noted that the China-Denmark Tourism Year is one of the fruits of consensus of state leaders of the two countries in order to boost the China-Denmark Comprehensive Strategic Partnership and to enhance the cooperation in the fields of culture and people-to-people exchanges, highlighting the strong wish of the two peoples in expanding communication and deepening friendship. The 2017 China-Denmark Tourism Year is the first tourism year that China launched with an EU member country, which is of speccial significance in enhancing cooperation of China-EU tourism. During the year, with support from both governments, the tourism administrations of the two countries organized a series of activities, in which the tourism enterprises were actively involved. These activities under the framework of tourism year, with various forms and profound contents, have given new impetus to the all-round cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Deng noted in her address that co-hosting the 2017 China-Denmark Tourism Year was an important consensus reached by Chinese President Mr. Xi Jinping and Danish Prime Minister Mr. Lars Løkke Rasmussen, with a view of expanding and deepening the overall bilateral ties. It was also an important implementation of the China-Denmark Joint Work Program. The Tourism Year boosted the cultural and people-to-people exchanges between China and Denmark , provided important experience for 2018 the EU-China Tourism Year and promoted China-EU and China-Nordic exchanges and cooperation at large.

    

The wonderful Chinese concert "Spring in Sai Bei" was also staged during the closing ceremony by artists from National Traditional Orchestra of Heilongjiang Opera Group. The performance struck a chord with the audience and won their warm applause.

On the same day, Ambassador Deng accompanied Chairman Li Jinzao meeting with Danish Minister for Industry, Business and Financial Affairs Mr. Brian Mikkelsen. The two sides exchanged views on topics such as promoting cultural and people-to-people exchanges as well as tourism cooperation and so on. Ambassador Deng was also participated in the Gala VIP Lunch and VIP Dinner of the China-Denmark Tourism Year 2017.
