Ambassador Wang Xuefeng Pays a Courtesy Call on Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen, Permanent Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Denmark

On July 3, 2024, Ambassador Wang Xuefeng paid a courtesy call on Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen, Permanent Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Denmark.

Ambassador Wang said that he is greatly honored to be appointed by President Xi Jinping as the 20th Chinese Ambassador to Denmark. Although China and Denmark are geographically far apart, and have many differences, the two countries have a long history of friendly exchanges. Denmark is one of the first western countries to establish diplomatic relations with New China. In recent years, China-Denmark relations have made significant progress, and friendly exchanges and cooperation have brought tangible benefits to our countries and peoples. China is ready to work together with Denmark to comprehensively implement consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, continuously consolidate political mutual trust, deepen practical cooperation, enhance the friendship between our two peoples, and promote the steady and sustained growth of China-Denmark Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Jeppe Tranholm-Mikkelsen welcomed Ambassador Wang’s assumption of the new post. He said that Denmark attaches great importance to its relationship with China and always views it from a long-term perspective. Denmark is ready to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China, implement the Green Joint Work Programme, and jointly celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations in the coming year.
