The so-called Copenhagen Democracy Summit has once again resorted to its dirty tricks of smearing and pointing fingers at China while disregarding facts. It makes irresponsible remarks and out-and-out lies on the Taiwan question. We are firmly opposed to this.
The Taiwan question has nothing to do with democracy, but bears on China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. Taiwan is a province of China, and an inalienable part of China’s territory. Anyone who violates the one-China principle, blatantly interferes in China’s internal affairs and infringes upon China’s sovereignty, will face the joint condemnation and opposition of the Chinese people and the sensible international community at large. "Taiwan independence" separatists and the external forces that attempt to use "Taiwan independence" to contain China's development are the biggest threat for peace and stability in the Taiwan Strait. Any connivance and support to "Taiwan independence" separatists goes against the trend of history and brings damage to world peace. "Taiwan independence" is a dead end. Any attempt to support it and split China is doomed to fail.
