On 13 January, the Danish Security and Intelligence Service (PET) published The Assessment of the Espionage Threat to Denmark. This report accuses China of stealing scientific and technological information from and carrying out espionage against Denmark. The accusations are groundless fabrications, which are full of speculations. The report plays up the so-called “China threat” and smears China's image. The Chinese side expresses strong dissatisfaction and firm opposition and has lodged solemn representations with the Danish side.

We urge the Danish side to abandon the Cold War mentality, correctly view the bilateral exchanges and cooperation including that in the area of science and technology, and do more for the healthy development of China-Denmark relations.
